Ways to make a difference

There are many ways members of the Gilead Congregational Church community make a positive difference in our community and in our world. Here are some ventures that highlight the kindness of our church family:

Gilead Helping Hands

Gilead Helping Hands is well known in our greater Hebron community.

Gilead Helping Hands offers on-the-ground assistance to our neighbors in need. We help with hands-on projects, such as:

  • Minor indoor and outdoor painting
  • Yard clean-up
  • Minor plumbing or carpentry work

Service Trips

Whether it’s somewhere along the Atlantic Seaboard or to countries such as Haiti, our members have responded to urgent needs for restoration and rebuilding after major events.

Helping children and families

We offer help to children and families in our community in several ways, such as:

  • Sponsoring a Social Worker to provide gifts for children and families at the holidays
  • Supporting local Human Services organizations to collect food, household items and supplies, and clothing
  • Raising funds for Mental Health initiatives
  • Providing meals for people in transition or experiencing isolation
