Gilead Congregational Church
United Church of Christ
Sunday School is offered every Sunday beginning with our 3 and 4 year old class and up through and including 8th grade. Our broadly graded Sunday School is taught by co-teachers, and is overseen by Sunday School Superintendents and our Board of Christian Education. We also offer a class for 9th-12th graders that meets on the first Sunday of the month. Sunday School begins in mid-September and ends in mid-June with our Children’s Sunday Worship Service.
During the summer months, we offer two classes for younger children (PreK/K and 1st-3rd grades). Volunteers are invited to teach a week. During summer classes, Bible stories are shared and crafts and games are also encouraged.
Children and youth are invited to begin in worship on Sunday mornings. Following a Children's Message, which is offered about 10-15 minutes after the service starts, young people are invited to go to their Sunday School classes. On the 1st Sunday of the month, when Communion is shared, those in 4th grade and higher are invited to remain in worship and to receive Communion at their parent’s or guardian's discretion. A workshop on Communion is held every fall for those entering 4th grade along with their parents.
