Genesis 49: 29-50: 14; 1 Corinthians 12: 1-11;
Mark 8:
11-26
God is speaking to us
through the Scriptures. My words are my
interpretation of the words read in the three passages assigned to me. They cover many situations that are difficult
to understand. One tells how Jesus fed 4,000
hungry people in the desert with seven loaves of bread and a few small fish,
and had leftovers. Another reminds the
reader to take communion with the right attitude or he shouldn’t take it. In Genesis, Jacob plans his funeral and where
to bury him in a cave, that would be a place others that went before him were
buried. Then it tells of the family
(Joseph and the brothers) getting together after his death.
No two or three people
would read these passages and come up with the same meaning that God is saying.
Or reading them again, some additional
thoughts not reasoned the first time. That
is why Bible study groups with several people “brain storming” the meaning of
the passage is not the final answer. Everyone’s
contribution is meaningful to the whole group understanding.
This is the reason
that we are called to be a church with many members regularly attending. God speaks to us through our discussions of
the scriptures.
Prayer:
Dear God, may we keep
striving to learn of You, and Your will for our
lives! Amen.
