The last supper was such an intense time.  It is here, Jesus offered bread and wine as remembrance of his body and blood.  Although I have symbolically repeated this ritual thousands of times, it always feels like it’s the first time.   The knowledge of Jesus’ bravery and strength in faith, at this time, is something that has always carried me during the challenging times of my life.

When I think back on the times of my family gatherings, a special time I remember was when we celebrated my Grandmother’s 90th birthday.  She was in a nursing home and dealing with several health issues; however, on that day, she was fully alert and entirely engaged in the celebration.  The entire family had a wonderful time.  In about a month’s time, she passed on and we were left with a wonderful last memory of her and the knowledge that she is in heaven with those she loves.  Thank you Jesus for your courage, your sacrifice, and the gift of life thereafter.
