John 6: 27-40
Do you believe everything you read and
hear? I don’t. I won’t read the newspaper or listen to the news, because I got
frustrated with them a long time ago. I do not believe what they tell me.
Often times, I have been at the scene of a
house fire or a motor
vehicle accident that a newspaper article covered, and found
that they got the story all wrong. It is
as if they didn’t think it was a good enough story, so they added to it, took

reporting. It has happened enough that I question everything they are

To believe is to have confidence in the
truth without absolute proof. We do not
live in the time when Jesus walked the earth.
We can not sit in front of Him at the temple to hear His teachings but
we can still hear His teachings everywhere. He is reaching out to us from the
Bible, through our preacher’s Sunday sermons, and throughout all of life, if we
only stop to listen to Him. Jesus’ whole life is a
teaching, a lesson for us follow if we believe He
is the way, though we may not see a miraculous sign. There may not be water
turning into wine as absolute proof to convince us of who Jesus really is.
From my experience, it is after your begin
to believe in Jesus that you open your eyes to the miracles of life all around
you.
