| The
youth group participated in their 5th Annual Homeless Awareness Night. There was snow on the ground, so it was
decided that they youth would spend the night inside instead of outside. They were still able to make their
box "homes", but it was done in the social hall. They enjoyed a meal of soup and bread provided by the
women's fellowship. They participated in the usual two service projects of the stuffing envelopes and making
apple pies for HIHS. The speaker this year was from "My Sister's Place", which is a women's shelter
in Hartford. The night was a great opportunity for the youth to get an understanding of the challenges
that face people who must live in shelters due to difficult times.
