Cowmingle / GroundBreaking

The youth group held their 3rd Annual Cow Mingle and had another spectacular day. This year the event was coupled with the ground breaking of our new social hall. Last year we had the outline painted on the grounds, and this year we dug. Very exciting.

The service for Children's Sunday is completely run by the children. They do the readings, the joys/concerns, sing, and dance. The service concludes with a wonderful slide show for us to review all the wonderful events our youth participate in as well as lots of candid shots. This year when the service ended, a processional was led by the children to our waiting shovels to the groundbreaking ceremony. Pastor Denise gave a dedication and everyone dug their shovels into the future social hall site.

After the ceremony the afternoon was spent mingling with the cows and eating a great pot luck lunch. We tried a new approach to the mingle this year. Instead of building a grid and selecting a square, people selected time slots. This year's winner was Dave Freer. He took home the wonderful gift basket as well as gets his name engraved on the coveted Cow Mingle trophy! It was a great afternoon of fellowship!
