Our Worship Service

Worshipping at the Gilead Congregational Church is like visting with family and God. We are the "Little White Church on the Hill", but we have been growing fast in the past few years.

The service begins with announcements which keeps everyone in the loop with the many happenings within our Church family. Volunteers act as liturgists and youth serve as acolytes. There is much singing and a time for joys and concerns.

The sermon is contemporary with a focus on what is going on in the world around us as well as in our small town. Pastor Denise gives a children's service before the youth leave for Sunday School. Most important, every service ends with a song of peace.

The warmth is carried thru the reception line and into the social hall after the service. Members volunteer to host the social hour with the help of board members. Coffe and snacks are shared along with the news of what is going on with family members.

During the summer we meet at 9:00 am and during the rest of the year we have two worship services. The first service begins at 8:30 a.m. and is a shorter (approximately 45 minutes) and more informal service. The second service is at 10:00 a.m. and includes the Choir. Children (pre-k thru 8th grade) leave during the second service for Sunday school. Communion is served the first Sunday (both services) of every month. For the second service, Grades 4 and above are invited to stay in service during those days.

Nursery is provided at no charge during the second service. We are handicapped accessable and large print bulletins are available.
